Big Walk Beginner Guide

Big Walk is a 2-12 player online co-op adventure where you and your friends explore a big hand-crafted island. The core loop is simple: talk, walk, solve puzzles together and find your way to the ending. This beginner guide covers the first hour: the start, the tools and how co-op works.

Quick answer: pick a 2-4 player world, use the walkie-talkie and proximity voice chat, and follow the towers in order — Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, then Black.

Starting a game

The host creates the world and chooses the player count (2, 3 or 4+ player versions of the island). Progress is saved on the host's machine only — other players join each session with a Join Code.

There is no single-player mode: Big Walk is built around talking with other people. You need at least one friend (or a stranger you adopt) to play.

Tools you get early

The proximity voice chat is the heart of the game — voices fade over distance, echo down corridors and muffle through walls. Stay close to your friends or rely on walkie-talkies.

Following the towers

The island is organised around coloured towers. Each tower area has keys to collect and puzzles that unlock the next region: Red Tower, then Green Tower with the chairlift, Yellow Tower with the tunnels, Blue Tower with the train, and finally Black Tower leading to the Wall and the ending.

Look for the map room early — it gives you your bearings and marks the route ahead.
